The Shanghai Youth Economist Scholar Salon (YESS) is a voluntary and solemn activity for academic discussion. The salon originates from the “Forum of public interests” organized by the “Studio of contemporary Chinese economy and society” of Fudan University and the School of Public Economics and Administration of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. The activity has successfully carried out two high-quality academic discussion events in the year 2014, after the initiative by the Regional and Industrial Development Research center of Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade.
The aim of YESS is to promote regular, critical communication among young economists in Shanghai about on-going research works through small-scale academic meetings. Up from this time, the salon will take form of paper presentations of 8 out-standing works selected from public article contribution. There is no limitation on the article topic and high academic quality is the only requirement the salon is after. YESS will soon form a scholars’ committee responsible for the paper selection process.
At last we officially inform you that the third academic salon will be held on 31st October 2014, at Shanghai Jiaotong University. If you are willing to contribute, please submit the electronic version of your paper to econ_sjtu@sina.cn before the 30th September. The committee will give official notice of the selection results to contributors by the 10th October.
