A brief introduction to the event:
During recent years, the government’s investment into social security has been growing rapidly with the country’s social security system gradually developed towards completion, and the public now has a higher expectation to the compensation level of the system. In the new time, how to further improve the social security system and reinforce social security management with the country’s present public finance capability remains to be an urgent issue that needs to be discussed.
Looking into the future, the young generation of scholars will play an important role in leading the country’s development in the domain of social security research. To power the country’s social security development and to provide a platform for communication between young students and researchers in this field, the School of Public Economics and Administration in Shanghai University of Finance and Economics has successfully organized the “Social Security and Social Policies” Distinctive Masters’ Students’ Academic Forum in the past three years. Now based on previous experience and the cooperation with its partner, the Research Institute of Public Policies and Administration, the School is privileged to host the forum of this year and wholeheartedly welcome students to attend the event.
High academic seminar in the field of social security and social policies will be held during the event, which will be honored by the attendance of well-known scholars and experts in the field who will give lectures and comments on the papers presented by Masters students at the forum.
1. Topic list of papers for contribution to the forum
1). Fundamental theories in social security
2). Issues on the aging population and old-age security reformation
3). Issues on the population health and medical care security reformation
4). Problems in social security fund management
5). Foreign social security systems and international comparison
6). Issues in sociological theories and policies
2. Submission of the paper
1). Article for submission must be the full text of the paper, which is original work by the author, unpublished or published before 1st January 2013. Word limit should be around 10,000.
2). Format of the paper:
a. Titles: middle place, no.3 black font;
b. Author names: middle place, no.4 Song font;
c. Author’s organization, post codes: middle place, no.5 Song font;
d. Abstract and Key Word in Chinese: no.5 Song font, between 300 – 500 words;
e. English titles: middle place, minor no.2 Times New Roman font;
f. English author names: middle place, no.4 Times New Roman;
g. Author’s organizations and post codes in English: middle place, no.5 Times New Roman;
h. Abstracts and Key Words in English: no.5 Times New Roman;
i. The text: no.4 Song font, 1.5 line space;
j. Clear citation and reference as academic standards. The author’s contact information and background introduction should be attached at the end of the paper. The contact information needs to contain: mail address, post code, contact number, email address and cellphone number. Introduction to the author should use Chinese no.5 Song font and no more than 100 words.

4). The submission deadline is 2nd November 2014. The academic committee will assess the submitted papers and give official invitation notice to authors who passed the assessment. The selected papers will be print into a proceeding. If the paper has multiple authors, please mark the author(s) attending the forum and giving the presentation when submit.
3. Transportation and accommodation
The forum will be held at Shanghai University of Finance and economics. For attendees with official invitation and from outside Shanghai, the conference will provide 2 days’ accommodation and catering with applicable reimbursement up to 1500 CNY. For attendees with official invitation and from Shanghai, the conference will provide applicable reimbursement up to 500 CNY.
