The 2015 SUFE Academic Masters,
The School of Public Economics and Management, with its mission to foster a high level of public management talent with an international perspective, has a strong faculty and a significant academic impact in many areas of public affairs. The School now has Public Finance and taxation, Public Administration, and Public Investment three discipline directions, and Public Finance is among national key discipline. In order to improve our Ph.D students’ source quality and academic ability, we open this MD-PhD program to all the 2015 SUFE Academic Masters.
We plan to admit around 10 students in the MD-PhD program, and the detailed applying and selecting process is explained as follow:
1.Applicants’ specialty is not limited. We would look into applicants’ academic achievements, research ability, and academic potential.
2.The numbers for each specialty depend on the teaching and admission capacity of each Specialty of the School. For more details, please refer to the school doctoral enrollment brochure.
3.After a reformation of the university’s scholarship program, students transferred from Master programs to MD-PhD programs are now legitimate of applying for scholarship and other living allowances. In addition, we offer incentive learning subsidy each month according to students’ research results.
4. Students transfer from the Master programs to MD-PhD programs will follow the curriculum the School designed for MD-PhD students of each specialty. The main modules will be lectured by outstanding teachers from home or abroad. The modules, as a whole, are designed in consideration of the diverse characteristics and features of different specialties. Students enrolled in the MD-PhD program will achieve a PhD degree upon successful finish of the study of all modules in the program.
5. Students in the MD-PhD program will have to return to the original Master program if fail in the program transferring examination or fail to pass a module. In this occasion the student can no longer pursue a PhD degree, but will be able to receive the Master degree of a certain specialty if successfully finish the program.
In order to make our program more clear, we would hold an enrollment conference, in which we would invite our leaders to share more information and organize on-site registration.
