Peng Shaochang is Ph.D in Economics of the University of Massachusetts, USA, and assistant professor of the Department of Economics in Rollins College, USA. He undertook both undergraduate and successive postgraduate-doctoral programs in the Department of International Politics in Fudan University, as well as doctoral programme in the Department of Government in Cornell University, USA. He is specialised in political economics, comparison of economic systems, economics for development, international political economics and Chinese economy, and his major themes of research include China mode of development, distribution of growth and poverty, globalization and the capitalist economic cycle, and the theory of crisis.
