IPPA and Institute of China’s Public Finance Jointly hold the media interaction seminar on policy interpretation and forecasting of social insurance reform in the third plenary session of the eighteenth central committee

On Jan 12, IPPA and Institute of China’s Public Finance jointly held the media interaction seminar on policy interpretation and forecasting of social insurance reform in the third plenary session of the eighteenth central committee. More than 50 internal and external experts, scholars, and journalists meet in Phoenix Building, and discussed on present status, problems, and future directions of our social security policy.

Dean of IPPA Prof. Hu Yijian, Prof. Liu Xiaochuan, Prof. Zheng Chunrong, SPEA Prof. Guo Shizheng, Prof. Yang Cuiyinying, Prof. Li Hua, Prof. Chen Jie, associate Prof. Yu Hong, Institute of FInance and Economics Associate Prof. Wang Wei shared their views on the social security hot issues as old-age insurance system reform of public institutions, government’s duty on the establishment of old-age insurance social service system, goals of full medical insurance and disease risk security, perfection and improvement of housing security policy, policy prospect on gradually postpone retirement age, our old-age insurance system reform from economic increase prospect, and etc.

The attended 30 journalists are from various institutes including national level press like Xinhua News Agency, traditional financial press like Economic Reference Press, CBN Daily, Economic Observer, China Business Weekly, influential comprehensive press like Beijing Youth Daily, southern Metropolitan Daily, radio and TV like CBN TV, CBN radio, Wenzhou Broadcasting and TV, and new media like Sina.com, Eastday.com. They discussed on the hot issues as public institutions reform, housing security, retirement age, institutions caring for the aged, and etc. With a warm atmosphere, the attendees believed that this discussion is very useful and enlightening. The achievements of this seminar would be submit to related decision-making department and publish on some media.

This media interaction seminar is the fourth new type seminar held by IPPA following Real estate policy, Fiscal and taxation policy, FTZ policy. Aiming to fully take its communication role as a think tank platform, IPPA lead the interact communication of professionals, officers, and medias from different areas and disciplines, to accelerate multi-disciplinary research and improve social influence. So far, the series media seminars have already held successfully four times and established good brand effect in related areas.
