On the afternoon of April 8, invited by SPEA and SUFE Propaganda department, the vice president of China Society of administrative reform and professor of Chinese academy of governance Wang Yukai, being the guest speaker of the 60 th SUFE Forum, gave a lecture on New stage of China’s reform and development and reform on public governance. Nearly 100 internal and external teachers and students attended the lecture.
Before the lecture, SUFE vice president Prof. Jiang Chuanhai met with Prof. Wang Yukai, extended warm welcome, and issued the certificate of SUFE part-time professor. Dean of IPPA Prof. Hu Yijian issued him the certificate of IPPA consultant. Dean of SUFE propaganda department Zhang Yiguo attended the lecture.
In the two-hours’ lecture, Prof. Wang Yukai demonstrated the 5 major paths of current status, problems and risks, obstacles of government’s self-reform, reform path of public governance, and key issues, from the 3 perspectives of challenges in public governance, importance of public governance reform, and great courage and wisdom required in removing reform obstacles, and answered the questions from attended teachers and students. Foresighted conception, comprehensive content, vivid cases, profound ideas, and delicate demonstration, made the lecture a great success and the auditorium was packed and full of applause.
Prof. Wang Yukai is a well-known expert in Public administration area serving a long term in the research of public administration, administration reform, E-government, and non-profit organizations. He is the member of expert group in E-government demonstration project of State department, member in advisory committee of experts in national informatization, member in academic committee of China (Hainan) reform and development institute, dean of government reform research center, member in academic committee of National Social development institute of Renmin University of China, PHD tutor Part-time professor in School of government administration of Peking University, School of management of Dalian University of Technology, and Business school of Northeast University
Prof. Wang’s research achievements and policy suggestions have a crucial influence in both politic and academic area. His five suggestion to accelerate the reform of provincial directly governing county made him a model and his suggestion to establish an organization for web and informatization management decision making headed by top leaders is adopted. In 2013, Prof. Wang led the research of official residence system with Chinese Characteristics, and he drafted a proposal submitted to the central committee in July and was adopted. The achievement was even mentioned in the third plenary session of the 18 th CPCCC in Nov 2013.
Prof. Wang Yukai had a in-depth communication with dean of IPPA Prof. Hu Yijian, vice dean Prof. Zheng Chunrong, and chief expert Prof. He Jinghua regarding the strategic cooperation between China Society of administrative reform and IPPA.
