From 20th to 22nd May, 2014, Deputy Dean FANG Fang of SPEA at SHUFE was invited to participate in 2014 Urban Land Institute Asia-Pacific Area Summit which was held in Hong Kong. Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was invited as membership unit.
Urban Land Institute (ULI) is a global non-profit line organization in the basis of members’ voluntary participation and support. This institute was established in America, 1936 and lasted for 77 years. Now there are about 40 thousand members over more about 80 countries representing several fields of land utilization, real estate development, and community development. Its purpose is to help members to take the leading roles about some social issues, such as land responsibility and effective utilization, and to promote the establishment and sustainable development of global vitality community. It owns great influence in America and Europe and gives strong support to higher education and training. Recently, ULI came into Asia-Pacific area and mainland China and played an increasingly significant role in society.
At the summit, Mrs Fang had a friendly talk with the CEO of ULI, Mr. Patrick L. Philips and CEO of ULI, Asia-Pacific branch, Mr. John Fitzgerald. Mrs Fang introduced condition of our school to them and emphasized the practice and experimental teaching in teaching reformation and expected to gain support from ULI to implement practice and experimental teaching. Both of them showed great interests in educational co-operation with Real Estate Development and Management Program and they also expected that ULI will be made use of in the practice and experimental teaching.
