On 30th June, 2014, the International Summer Course of our school has started. This is the first time our school establish an international summer school. In this International Summer Course, we have four courses in total, namely Why Are Local Governments Bankrupt? Public Financial Management in the United States, Project Management, International Real Estate and Mortgage Market, International Finance. Lecturers of all the courses are renowned foreign scholars: Zhao Zhirong, Bryan Charles Loder, Noah Karley and Gu Yingxiang. The establishment of the International Summer School is an effort to enhance the progress of internationalisation of the curriculum system, accelerate the reformation in the style of teaching, and establish a richer mode of talent nurturing, so that the students can experience diversified international studying. This is an important attempt of our school in the practice of education reformation.
In order for the International Summer Course to reach the expected goals, a series of managing measures and systems are established by our school. Apart from encouraging teachers to actively attend the courses in order to learn from the teaching style of outstanding international teachers, we will also assign a teacher in charge of each class, whose major responsibilities are the discipline of students during the lectures, evaluation of teaching and services. We also assign an assistant for each course, responsible for organising and recording discussions during the lectures, as well as answering relevant questions and helping them with better studying of relevant knowledge in spare time. Also, in order to accurately assess the level and style of teaching of the lecturers, as well as to choose more qualified teachers, the school has invited 3 professional teachers to evaluate the teaching of each course and assess the teaching of lecturers from all aspects accordingly, which can also encourage the lecturers to teach more seriously.
It is believed that with the efforts of the students, lecturers and other teaching staff of the International Summer Course, we are able to open up the international view of the students, improve their comprehensive qualities, and also to accelerate the reformation of teaching style, to establish a richer mode of talent nurturing, to accelerate the nurturing of qualified teachers, to expand the international influence of the university and to enhance the outward cooperation and expansion. In addition, our school can receive precious experience for the reference of the establishment of international summer schools in the future.
