Summer Camp 2014 of the School of Public Economics and Administration of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, which lasted for four days, was successfully held from 6th to 9th July. Participants of the summer camp included outstanding students from renowned universities all around the country such as Zhejiang University, Nankai University, Amoy University, Sichuan University, Jilin University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, etc. They participated in the summer camp with outstanding students from our university, and experienced various assessments for the selection of recommended exemption for graduate students of the School of Public Economics and Administration for the year 2015.
Summer Camp of the School of Public Economics and Administration aims to enhance the communication among outstanding students from universities all around our countries through colourful academic platforms, and enhance young students’ understanding of academic research. Meanwhile, by means of comprehensive quality development and comprehensive assessment, outstanding college students are selected to proceed with their further study. Within four days, the selection of outstanding campers was complete by the school through various lectures, interactive salons and campus touring, as well as several written examinations and comprehensive assessments including leaderless group discussions and professional interviews. Campers of this summer camp were selected by the school from numerous applicants through strict assessments. The campers performed excellently during the activities and assessments, living the expectations and presenting the passion in studying, level of knowledge, academic ability and comprehensive quality of college students, leaving fruitful results and beautiful memories for this Summer Camp of the School of Public Economics and Administration.
The University and the School attached high importance to this Summer Camp, which was greatly supported by leaders of the universities, as well as various functional departments. Prof. Yao Lingzhen, Assistant Principal, Prof. Fen Runmin, Chief of Students’ Affairs Division and Ji Chuhua, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, attended the opening ceremony of the Camp, and gave passionate speeches. All of them wish the campers would cherish the experiences in the Summer Camp, fully presenting them and developing into promising talents to rejuvenate the nation. With the full support of leaders of universities, as well as specialists and professors, academic staff, departments of administration and rear services of the school, together with thorough arrangement and organisation of the staff, the Summer Camp concluded with success, achieving expected aims. All the campers expressed their satisfaction towards the enriched agenda and the contents of the activities of the Summer Camp, which was colourful, carefully arranged and balanced in studying and relaxation. They were able to admire the demeanour of academic specialists, and also to enhance the understanding between each other and to present their own images. It established a solid foundation and created a wonderful platform for their further study, as well as academic and friendly communication in the future.
