On 16th September 2014, Research Postgraduate Program Opening Ceremony of 2014 and Annual Report of 2014 took place in the lecture hall on the second floor of Administration Building of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Zou Ping (Associate Dean of Postgraduate College), Sheng Hui and Liu Xiaochuan (Leaders of Party and Policy of the college), Responsible Persons of the Education Center of Postgraduate Programs (Public Administration, Taxation and Valuation) and Supervisors attended the ceremony. 88 students of Taxation, Valuation and Public Administration of the class of 2014, 60 students of Taxation and Valuation attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Shen Hui (Secretary of Party General Branch of SPEA)

Professor Zou Ping firstly gave the best wishes for the opening ceremony and the report by senior students in behalf of the graduate college. Professor Zou elaborated the significance of Research Master Programs in two aspects, national development strategy and the requirement of economic social development. He also spoke highly of Master in Taxation, Master in Evaluation and Master in Public Administration. He said these three programs are leading ones among the total 12 programs at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. This is because there are three features in the programs: 1. Double tutorial system; 2. Best use of practice base; 3. Combination of New Students Opening Ceremony and Senior Students Annual Report.

Professor Liu put forward the idea that Research Postgraduate Program for Practice is new-born in China, so we should discover further and learn lessons from experience. This is a good chance to conclude advantages and disadvantages in this ceremony. Professor Liu gave high expectation towards new students and hoped them to put study in the first place, to watch on the reformation and opening in China and the movement of employment, to broaden the view of knowledge and develop themselves according to the standard of elite in a certain industry.

The responsible person of each Research Master Program Education Center announced the name list of new off-campus affiliate supervisor and gave them the letter of appointment. Chairman of the Board of Shanghai Lixin Credit Rating Co. Ltd, Mrs Zhang, gave students five words which are Xiao (Obedience of Parents Commands), Xue (Learn), Jian (Health), Meng (Dream), Xiao (Joy). These words mean that we should cease to struggle and we cease to live. The Chairman of the Board of Shanghai Kuangheng Information and Technology Co. Ltd., Mr Deng Yingsheng reviewed the overall features of the last thirty years’ economic growth in China. He pointed out that with the completion of Chinese market economy, times of free growth is ended, while times of concerning regulations is coming soon, especially the Principle of Legal Prescription of Revenue has been established, which means that regulation will play an increasing significant role in economy. Therefore, he hoped that the students will cherish the favorable study environment and strengthen the foundation of the professional knowledge. Mr Zeng Jimao (Director of Research Master Program Education Center at SPEA) referred that “today is a turning point for everybody, and SPEA Programs are your refueling point”. He emphasized the significance of MPA from the aspects of methods and ways of management during the time of radical change of the nation and society.
At the end of the ceremony, Shenwei Scholarship Awarding Ceremony and Student Social Scholarship Awarding Ceremony were held. Mrs Ma Lihua ((The Chairman of the Board of Shanghai Shenwei Credit Rating Co. Ltd.), donated the money to college herself., Mr. Jiang Xiao (Vice Director of Shanghai Dongzhou Credit Rating Co. Ltd.) presented students Dongzhou Credit Rating Master New Talents and Comprehensive Award. Mrs Zhang Meiling (Shanghai Lixin Credit Rating Co. Ltd.) and Mrs Shu Ying (Chief Evaluator) presented students with Linxin Credit Rating Master New Talents and Comprehensive Award. Mrs Ma Lihua (The Chairman of the Board of Shanghai Shenwei Credit Rating Co. Ltd.) presented students with Linxin Credit Rating Master New Talents and Comprehensive Award. The preventative of Zuoquan Law Office presented Zuoquan Finance and Tax Scholarship. Professor Zhu Weiqun (Director of Research Master in Taxation Education Center of SHUFE) presented Zhonghui Taxation Scholarship on behalf of Mr Yao Huiming (Partner of Zhonghui Certified Tax Agents.
