On the afternoon of Oct 14, the 2014 awarding ceremony for College Students Summer Social Investigation Excellent Reports Selection of our investment department is solemnly held in room 302 in Phoenix Building. The entire Ceremony was presided by Prof. Chen Jie. Vice Secretary of SPEA CPC General Branch Fang Hui, Vice Dean Fang Fang, investment department leaders, the judging teachers, and all the involved students attend the ceremony.
Prof. Chen Jie extends thanks to the presented audience and invites vice secretary Fang Hui to give remarks. Vice Secretary Fang Hui explains the importance and realistic meaning of social practice for college students from a perspective of combination of theory learning and social investigation, points out that teaching reform program and social practice base construction of investment department are very crucial exploration, accumulated precious experience for further activities, and wishes this activity a full success.
Prof. Chen Jie introduces the general situation, selection process, and awarding rules, and then invites Zhang Xuewen, the representative of judges to give comments on the entry reports. Zhang Xuewen shares some comments on both the overall tendency and detailed characteristics from the aspects on topic value, investigation method, structure completion, logic relevance, suggestion feasibility and etc.
After the comments, associate prof. Li Huiping, invited by Prof. Chen Jie, makes a keynote speech on Social investigation and Social investigation report writing. Prof. Li explains the highlights of report writing from the aspects of goal confirmation, method selection, sampling skills, and shares some typical cases.
After the speech, head of investment department Prof. Yang Dakai announces the awarding list, and the Prizes are co-issued by vice dean Fang Fang and associate prof. Gao Xiaohui. 
Then the winners extend their thank-you speeches and share their gaining knowledge. They agree that this event provided a very precious opportunity to practice what they have learned. They would not have enough motivation to summarize social reality into investigation report without such a event and they realize that the teachers have put lots of effort on this activity. Prof. Chen Jie comments on each students’ speech and explains some hot topics. The students gain even more from the comments and discussion.
At the end, deputy head of investment department associate Prof. Jian Desan makes a summary. Associate Prof. Jian Desan thanks the presented teachers and students, congratulates on the student winners, and wishes more students could actively be involved in related activities. He points out that some submitted reports could still be improved for the writers’ lacking of related experience and he promises that our teachers are willing to provide more support and students could have timely communication when they encounter any problems.
