Thirty years passed, we can never stop loving you! On November 8 2014, more than 60 alumni of 1980 class major in Finance, financial construction and credit come back to SUFE to attend the gathering activity to celebrate 30-years’ anniversary of graduation and 97-years’ birthday of SUFE. Vice Dean of SPEA Prof. Liu Xiaochuan attends the forum and shares the recent development of SPEA with alumni. Chen Heben, the former vice president of SUFE and head teacher of financial construction class, Zhang Baoliang, head teacher of finance class, and teacher representatives Gu Zhaoxi, Xu Zhenbang, Hu Xiuhao take part in this activity and gave speeches.
It’s a little cold and rainy in this early winter, but the alumni are enthusiastic. In the early morning, with the accompany of our staff, alumni of public finance class visit their North Zhongshan No. 1 Road campus. They trace the location and marks of the teaching building, dormitory, and canteen, feeling the fantastic change and development of SUFE, express that it’s a best time for current college students. In front of Bosi Building, alumni wear the well-prepared academic gown, take photos, to make up for not having this opportunity thirty years ago when they graduated. Although many of the alumni are getting gray hairs, they still carefully dress themselves like a student. They say that this section of wearing gown, make their dream which last for 30 years come true, to return to school, to become a student again, to listen to teachers’ advice, to reunite with SUFE. On the other hand, Alumni of financial construction class visit school history room, Guoding campus, and Wuchuan campus, recalling the 97 years of age of SUFE, and witnessing the dramatic change day after day.
At around ten in the morning, alumni gather at Phoenix building to attend the anniversary forum. Vice Dean of SPEA Liu Xiaochuan, on behalf of the school, shows warm welcome to all the alumni, introduces the development of SPEA in recent 14 years, shares the updated achievement and current situation of One Body Two Wings, harmonious development of multi-majors. Chen Heben, Zhang Baoliang, Gu Zhaoxi, Xu Zhenbang, Hu Xiuhao give speeches and recall the scene when they gave lessons, brought the alumnni to the old days of 30 years ago. Alumni are surprised by the huge development of SUFE and SPEA. They recall the instruction of teachers, express the gratitude to Alma mater, and say that it is the four years in SUFE which laid a solid foundation for their later forty years. The climax come when the alumni representative presented flowers to the teachers. Alumni are active to take photos with teachers and wish them good health and long life.
Time flies. Thirty years ago, as the third term graduates of renewed SUFE, alumni of 1980 left the old and simple campus, left the adorable teachers, left the classmates they lived with, to fight for their lives. Thirty years later, they gathered at the beautiful campus with red tiles and green trees, reunited with classmates and teachers, commemorated the days they grew up together with SUFE. Ages could change their faces but not their links. At the end, alumni make an appointment that they would come together to SUFE three years later to celebrate the school’s centennial.
