On 1st January 2014, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics hold the meeting to select the advanced unit of employment service. Our school had the honor to won the innovative employment service prize after the judges’ evaluation and group assessment. Other four winners were School of Economics, School of Finance, School of International Business Administration and School of Law.
By 28th November 2014, the overall employment rate of our school’s graduates was 97.28%. Specifically, the employment rate of undergraduates, postgraduates and doctoral graduates was 96.38%, 99.20% and 95.24% respectively. Except the employment rate of doctoral graduates, the employment rate of both undergraduates and postgraduates were higher than that of the same time last year. Among the graduate of 2014, one student started his own business after leave the university.
In year 2014, in order to improve the soft power of the employment service, the School of Public Economics and Administration focus on innovative practices and puts a lot of efforts in four areas, namely, management system, employment market development, career service and practical education. In terms of the employment market development, the school integrates the visible market with the invisible market, and training bases with practice bases.
In terms of the career service, the school invites some professional career consulters and psychologist, business managers and human resources managers, talents in their own industry, as well as alumni to make speeches for students. Also, the school makes the best use of the graduate who has find a job, at the same time, carries out ‘seven-once’ career development education activities, which refers to once group coach, once workshop, once personality test, once mock interview, once symposium, once experience sharing session and a series of lectures.
Regarding to practical education, the school actively engaged in building platforms of contests activities and projects, improving students’ practical ability, employment competence as well as innovation and entrepreneurship ability. On the 2014th national college students' entrepreneurship competition ‘Youth Creation’, Zhou Sheng and his fellows, undergraduates of Investment Department of 2012, had won the national silver award for the mobile application called ‘Loonme’ which can help students to manage their money . In addition, undergraduates of Labor and Social Security Department of 2012, Chen Yuanzhe and his fellows won the bronze award of Shanghai Municipality. Apart from that, our school’s team won the second place of the 2014 Deloitte Tax Championship.
