SPEA undergraduate disciplines pass the evaluation successfully

On Dec 11, 2014, SPEA holds the undergraduate discipline evaluation meeting. The presenting external experts on this meeting are Prof Zhang Qiurong from Shanghai Maritime University, Prof. Wu Liang from Donghua University, Prof. Lei Lianghai from University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Prof. Hu Suyun from Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Prof. Chu Minwei from Shanghai Finance University, and Prof. Yu Xiaofen from Zhejiang University of Technology.

The involving majors in this evaluation are taxation, investment, labor and social security, and real estate operation and management. On the stage of split evaluation, Taxation department Dean Zhu Weiqun, Investment department Dean Yang Dakai, Social Security department Dean Yue Yin, and real estate major leader Chen Jie give reports respectively to the experts concerning the detailed aspects of discipline development, major construction, undergraduate teaching, and research, etc. The external expert team listen carefully to the reports, check each majors’ supporting materials, talk in forums with teachers and students, attend some classes by random, and experience the teaching equipment. Based on all these efforts, the expert team speak highly of these four majors on their major concentrating and intellectual training, with clear training plan and ideology, enough emphasis on course construction and practical teaching, gratifying exploration on outside training base and doubletutors. They also point out the existing problems such as unreasonable structure and inefficient quantity of teachers in some majors and share several suggestions on major construction, discipline development, and intellectual training.

On the expert feedback meeting in the afternoon, SUFE Supervision Team Leader Prof. Yue Yaoxing, SPEA leaders, discipline leaders, and core teachers attend the meeting and listen to the feedback. After an overall review and discuss of these majors, the expert team agree that the four majors of taxation, investment, labor and social security, and real estate operation and management, are all qualified in this evaluation. Meanwhile, they also lay emphasis on attracting high-quality talents, training young teachers, improving teachers’ structure, building up good study style, forming benign academic atmosphere,and upgrading core competitiveness.
