Professor Martin Laffin From Queen Mary University of London Visits SPEA

On the morning of April 18, Professor Martin Laffin from Queen Mary University of London came and visited SPEA, and had a talk with Deputy dean Fu Wenlin, MPA Center Dean Gen Shu and Zeng Jimao.



Professor Martin Laffin is professor in Public Management, and resigned from Commerce and Management School Dean of Queen Mary University of London not long ago.

SUFE and Queen Mary University has built up school-level cooperation for two years. SUFE has set up a Confucius school in Queen Mary University and its present President is Professor Zou Ping.

In the discussion, both sides agreed that they have many similarities in discipline structure and expect further cooperation especially in below points.

1、Queen Mary University would hold summer course for SUFE graduates.

2、Queen Mary University expects to be involved in SUFE MPA students' Visiting Program.

3、Queen Mary University's Chinese Committee has 3-4 program awards, and several other rewards are also available for excellent SUFE students.

4、Queen Mary University is applying an EU Program on Sino-Britain city comparison research, and it hopes to build a multi-organization system including governments and universities to promote this program. The formal application would begin in Nov and QM University hopes that SUFE professors would actively take part in the research.

5、Deputy Dean Fu Wenlin proposed that we could build a more stable summer school cooperation relations. Professor Martin Laffin agreed and wished a win-win cooperation model.

This talk enhanced the foundation for further cooperation and ended in a friendly atmosphere.
