On the morning of February 16, the Project Reporting and Exchange Meeting of Research on the Construction Goal and Index System of Kunming as Regional International Central City, which is the 2017 Major Entrusted Project of Kunming Municipal Government and is hosted by SPEA Professor He Jinghua, was held in room 136 of Red-tiled Building in SUFE.
Kunming municipal party committee and municipal government attached great importance to this Project. A group of ten, including Kunming Municipal Party Committee Standing Director and General Secretary Liu Wenwei, Vice General Secretary Du Wen, Municipal Party Committee Policy and Research Office Dean Chen Tao, Municipal Government Research Office Dean Sun Hong, Municipal Government Shanghai Liaison Office Dean Li Fugui, Municipal Development and Reform Commission Deputy Dean Mei Junhui, Municipal Planning Bureau Chief Planner Wang Weizhu, Municipal Party Committee General Office Section Chief Zhu Jiangjing, Municipal Development and Reform Commission Section Chief Su Yannian, Municipal Party Committee Policy and Research Office Section Chief Huang Youyin, made a special trip to IPPG of SUFE to attended this meeting. IPPG Dean Professor Hu Yijian hosted this Project Reporting and Exchange Meeting.
Professor Cong Shuhai, the Party secretary of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, attended the meeting and made a welcome speech. Professor Cong, on behalf of SUFE, showed warm welcome to the leaders of Kunming Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, and wished to take this meeting as an opportunity of deepening the scientific research cooperation between colleges and local governments and improving the ability of colleges in serving local economic development. In the meeting, SUFE Vice President Professor Jiang Chuanhai put forward specific requirements on how to gather experts inside and outside the school, finish the task of researching projects with high quality, and deepen cooperation with Kunming municipal government.
In the meeting, Chen Tao, the director of the Policy and Research Office in Municipal Party Committee, introduced the project’s research background. Besides, Project Director Professor He Jinghua, on behalf of the project team, not only introduced the project’s preliminary foundation work, which includes the project’s purpose, method, steps, ideas and perspectives, group composition and documents preparation, but also reported the research achievements of the project from four aspects of the new stage, the strategic structure, the index system and the main route for the construction of Kunming to become a regional International Central City.
Kunming Municipal Party Committee Standing Director and Secretary-General Liu Wenwei proposed guidance on how to deepen research of the project, and expressed gratitude for the great support from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Municipal Party Committee Vice General Secretary Du Wen, Municipal Government Research Office Dean Sun Hong, Municipal Development and Reform Commission Deputy Dean Mei Junhui and Municipal Planning Bureau Chief Planner Wang Weizhu also promoted some specific suggestions.
SPEA Dean Professor Liu Xiaobing, Research Institute of Free Trade Zone Deputy Dean Professor Sun Yuanxin, SPEA Deputy Dean Professor Yang Cuiying, SUFE Academic Department Deputy Director Zheng Chunrong and some members of the Project Team attended the meeting. The leaders of SUFE, SPEA and IPPG attached great importance to this project. They set up a research team which consists of 21 experts inside and outside the school, including academic experts, policy experts and practical professionals. The project team carefully organized the research, finished the outline, ideas and main content, and will make improvement based on the suggestions from this meeting. As planned, the project team will make a trip to Kunming and report to Yunnan Provincial Party Committee Standing Director and Kunming Municipal Party Secretary Cheng Lianyuan and the Mayor of Kunming Wang Xiliang at the end of this month.
