On Feb. 26, the 2017 NASPAA-Batten International Students Simulation Case Competition(China Area), with Food Safety as subject, was held in School of Public Administration of Tsinghua University. Our SPEA has 5 students attending the competition, and after a whole day’s effort, the team World I, contained Hong Wei and Wang Luxia from our 2016MPA Single Certificate Class, won the championship.

The NASPAA Simulation Case Competition held every year, and this year is the first time they set a independent China Area. More than 40 students from China, Russia, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Singapore and some MPA/MPP European Students studying in China attended the competition.

All the competitors were divided into team world I and team world II. They fought each other and their scores will compete with teams from other 7 Areas to win global championship. Each team would focus on West Africa, East Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia and South America, and team members will take the role of regional directors, program officers for Environment, Agriculture, and Health. In 4 round, they selected and implemented public policies, in order to improve indicators containing nutrition, production, supply, population, environment, and infrastructure, and to completely solve the problem of food safety by 2030.

Our SPEA has selected 5 students attending this competition. Among them, Hong Wei, Wang Luxia from 2016 Single Certificate Class were divided into Team World I and played South Asia officer and Southeast Asia Officer, while Zhou Wei from 2015 Double Certificate Class, He Baoyue, Wang Yuyu from 2016 Double Certificate Class were divided into Team World II and played East Africa Director, Southeast Asia officer and Program officer.
During the competition, our 5 students discussed, analyzed and communicated with competitors from other nations and areas, and showed good spirit. In the end, Hong Wei, Wang Luxia’s Team World I performed better and won China Area Championship. Each competitor won an entry certificate from NASPAA.

NASPAA is a Union of Universities in Public Administration, Public Policy, and Public Affairs, representing international standard of Public Service Education, aiming at maintaining and improving education quality in public administration area, containing more than 300 member universities, and its sub-organization COPRA being most authoritative certificate organization in International Public Service Education Area.
