The Fifth Meeting of the Twelfth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the Fifth Meeting of the Twelfth National People's Congress (NPC) of the People's Republic of China kicked off on March 3, 2017 in Beijing. The successful convening of the two sessions was a major event in the development of the Party and our country. The "time of two sessions" caught all the eyes, and attracted the attention of the teachers and students of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics School of Public Economics and Administration. Everyone watched, listened to "two sessions" reports through mobile phones, Internet, television, newspapers, radio and other ways, always pay attention to the significant progress of the "two sessions", learned the latest spirit of the "two sessions" in time, and responded enthusiastically to the successful convening of the "two sessions".

As a young teacher party member, I personally hold a high degree of concern about the successful convening of the "two sessions". 2016 was the first year in the decisive stage in advancing China into a moderately prosperous society in an well-rounded way, and a series of prospective objectives were achieved smoothly. GDP grew steadily and CPI was stable. The urban newly-increased employment target was exceeded, and urban registered unemployment rate was within the control. In 2016, China put forth effort to stabilize and improve macroeconomic policies, and implemented the proactive fiscal policy and prudent monetary policy, sped up the reform of fiscal and taxation system, strengthened the structural reform of supply side, maintained the economic running in a reasonable range. I am looking forward to the economic and social development in the future, and I will participate in the education modernization actively, make contributions to build China into a moderately prosperous country in an all-round way.

Since "the 13 th Five-Year", China's economic and social development has made great achievements, and China is not only the largest "power source" for world's economic growth, but also the "stable anchor" of world's macroeconomic, which provides strong support and protection for the development of education. The national "two sessions" is a major event in China's political life every year. As a higher education worker, I am concerned about the Party and the state’s reform and policies in higher education. At present, colleges and universities undertake the three functions of personnel training, scientific research and social service. How to carry out these three functions more efficiently and evenly, to improve the quality of personnel training in colleges and universities, to promote high-level scientific research and the transformation of scientific research achievements, are important issues related to the long-term development of higher education in China. In recent years, our government has also introduced many major strategic measures in these areas, such as promoting construction of "double first-class" (world-class universities and first-class disciplines) and improve the reform of professional titles system in colleges and universities, etc. These important strategies will have far-reaching impacts on the development of higher education in China, guide the construction and reform of colleges and universities in the future, and are also closely related to the development of each teacher. Over the past year, China's economic and social career have achieved remarkable results. The convening of the two sessions make us full of confidence and expectations for the future. I hope that deputies in "two sessions" will discuss higher education career, and put forward more good suggestions in the improvement and playing the functions of colleges and universities, promoting the development of teachers, to drive China's higher education career in the future.

On March 3 and March 5, 2017, the Fifth Meeting of the Twelfth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Fifth Meeting of the Twelfth National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China were held in Beijing respectively. The cadres, teachers and students in education industry are highly concerned about the two sessions, take pride in the steady growth of national economy over the past year, are full of expectations for the national economic and social construction in the future, and are confident of building China into a moderately prosperous country in an all-round way, while we discuss about "medical reform", “revitalization of the northeast", “replacing business tax with VAT”, "the Belt and Road" and other topics actively . In the past year, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core judged the situation scientifically, grasped and led the new normal of economic development, and won a good start in "the 13 th Five-Year". All the teachers and students believe that these strategic decisions made in the "two sessions" will play a significant role in national development in the future, and will firmly support the central decisions, earnestly study the spirit of the two sessions, practice the contents of NPC & CPPCC consciously, and actively participate in the educational modernization career.

The national "two sessions" were held in 2017. As a PHD student Party branch secretary, I hold the earnest attention of the two sessions, watched and listened to reports about the "two sessions" seriously through the television, newspapers, Internet, WeChat, microblog and other ways, and discussed with Party member students on hot topics worthy of social concern.
Five of the topics get more attention, including, "the Draft of the Civil Law General Principles of the People's Republic of China" being deliberated by the National People's Congress, the performance since the implementation of the Supply-side Reform, the extent of the construction of “the Belt and Road”, the Internet + strategy as well as the "Made in China 2025" that will be released soon.
As a PHD student, I am looking forward to China's economic and social development, and I will promote the development of education and make contributions according to my actual condition.

The convening of national "two sessions", the annual political event, undoubtedly attracts the most attention as well as is the most important current affair this year, and it also has become the important window where the world observes China's governance, economic diplomacy and people’s livelihood. In the past year, from the innovation support to deepening of reform, from the open layout to regional coordination, from the decentralization to reducing tax and fee, from green development to improving people's livelihood, the Chinese economy achieves stabilization and promotion gradually in the quiet work, and optimize the structure through the supply-side structural reform, build the foundation for future development. As university students majoring in Finance and Economics, we are also concerned about NPC & CPPCC actively, to learn the progress and achievements of national economic and social development and economic policies in the future. The successful convening of "two sessions" gives the whole country and the people great confidence, and also pass more hope and strength to the world. In the new year, the Party Central Committee will lead the people of the whole country to continue to make full efforts to achieve the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way. On March 3, 2017, the Fifth Meeting of the Twelfth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference started officially, which opened the prelude of the 2017 national two sessions. As a graduate student with financial and economics background, I pay close attention to the convening of the two sessions, especially the development of China's economic and social achievements and future planning. And I am delighted to see that against the background of sluggish global economic recovery, China's GDP exceeded 70 trillion yuan mark in 2016, and its economic growth has returned to the first place of the world's major economies again. The supply-side reform, “the Belt and Road”, the structural tax reduction and other issues are China's current economic and social hot topics. Although China's overall economic slows down, the whole is slow to stabilize, steady and better. So I believe with the work of the supply-side structural reform as principal line in progress, the reform will continue to release dividend , and China's economy still has a strong driving force and lasting endurance.

With the arrival of March, we finally ushered in the NPC &CPPCC. The two sessions are just at the critical stage in deepening of reform this year, as well as in the key year of advancing China into a moderately prosperous society in an well-rounded way, and representatives and committee members from all walks of life and industries, will bring the latest development and reform proposals about these areas of their own concern. The national "two sessions" is a meeting of the spirit of unification, clearer direction and the path in an important stage of political, economic and social development in our country, in order to provide compliance and protection for dealing with the challenges from international and domestic effectively. China has made remarkable achievements in economic and social development. The proportion of China’s main economic and social indicators of total quantity in the world increases continually, and the ranking of main economic and social per capital indicators continues to move forward. China’s international status improves significantly, as well as the international influence enhances obviously. But there are a lot of problems about people's livelihood to be solved at the same time, which are hot spots and focus that the "two sessions" continue to concern over the years. We also hope that two sessions will bring more good news.

With the successful convening of national "two sessions", as a student Party member, I not only pay close attention to the progress of the two sessions, but also lead branch members to focusing on hot topics in the two sessions. The road of China's economic and social development is like the Long March, where people of all ethnic groups advance together with the leadership of the CPC, and will achieve the victory in the end.
