On the afternoon of March 7, 2017, the Second 2017 SUFE Investment Dept. Graduate Forum was successfully held in the conference room 304 of Phoenix Building.
In order to improve the level of PHD students’ research ability, strengthen the quality of their dissertation management and improve the research atmosphere, SUFE Investment Department has initiated the PHD Students Forum since 2016. The PHD Students Forum has held successfully in November 8, 2016 and January 11, 2017 respectively and a total of 12 papers were reported. In order to promote the quality of graduate students’ dissertation and improve the atmosphere of scientific research at the same time, Investment Department PHD Students Forum expanded the coverage to graduate students and the Forum upgraded to Graduate Students Forum. All the teachers and graduate students of Investment Dept. participated in the Shanghai Finance and Economics Department of Investment Graduate Student Forum. The Forum implemented check-in system for graduate students and auditors are warm welcomed to the discuss.
The Graduate Forum was presided by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics SPEA Investment Dept. Dean Professor Chen Jie, while Associate Professor Ma Zuqi, Doctor Zheng Rui, Doctor Ye Fang, Associate Professor Deng Xiaoying and graduate students of Investment Dept. attended the Forum. Doctor Sun Cong, School of Urban and Regional Sciences/Institution of Finance and Economics, and other teachers and students also attended the Forum.

First of all, 2014 National Economics PHD student Wan Ningna (Tutor: Professor Wang Keqiang) reported "Intercity relations study based on asymmetric network ", which was based on the perspective of urban chain network, let the Yangtze River Delta 26 major cities and logistics Enterprises as the network nodes and subnodes respectively, used INM urban network algorithm to analyze the regional spatial relations in the Yangtze River Delta region.

2015 Real estate Economics PhD student Hu Pei (Tutor: Professor Wang Hongwei) reported paper "Is the price-rent ratio too high in Shanghai?", which obtained the value of the house price to rent ratio after mass correction with the Hedonic model regression, and based on the user cost equilibrium conditions to obtain the balanced market price to rent ratio so as to measure the deviation of housing price rent ratio and equilibrium value in Shanghai housing market.

2016 Real Estate Economics PhD student Chen Zhuo (Tutor: Professor Chen Jie) report on “Urban housing market structure and household housing demand", which is based on the perspective of urban housing market structural imbalance, used UHS micro-data in family level to match macro-data in urban level, to examine the effect of the proportion of urban housing rental market demand on household housing consumption.

2014 Real Estate Economics PhD student Wang Fang (Tutor: Professor Yao Lingzhen) reported on "High housing prices will inhibit scale of the private sector investment ? - evidence from the enterprise micro-survey data", which explored the relationship between real estate prices and the scale of the enterprise investment, and found that the rise in housing prices would not only produce “mortgage guarantee channel effect”, but also increase the operating costs of enterprises and brought "cost effect", which was more obvious for the private enterprise.

2014 National Economics graduate student Liu Xinyi (Tutor: Professor Chen Jie) reported on "Analysis on the factors affecting the progress of PPP in the new era of China", which used the PPP data in the procurement and implementation phase, analyzed the main factors affecting the scale of PPP, and found that government pressure, market scale, market openness, financial development level, economic growth speed and import and export trade are significantly related to the PPP scale.

Finally, Professor Chen Jie summed up the forum, thanked the teachers and students for their enthusiastic support and active participation, pointed out the problem that graduate students need to pay attention to in the paper report, and finally announced the successful conclusion of the forum.
The organization of Graduate Students Forum improved the academic atmosphere of the Department, strengthened communication between graduate students and tutors, improved graduate students’ dissertation quality, and developed their presenting ability, receiving good evaluation and positive feedback from teachers and students.
