SPEA Holds the Translator Exchange of Fiscal Politics Translations and the Seminar on New Directions for Public Finance Research

On Mar12, 2017, “the Translator Exchange of Fiscal Politics Translations and the Seminar on New Directions for Public Finance Research” supported and sponsored by SUFE Press and SPEA, was held successfully in the conference room of the third floor in phoenix building and ended in a satisfactory way.

 


Public Finance is an important tool for national governance. The Public Finance community has been working to explore how to use the Public Finance tools to promote social fairness and justice, and to achieve effective national governance. The team of Fiscal Politics Translations is composed of SPEA teachers and doctoral graduates which are the main body, as well as teachers from other universities who are engaged in researching Public Finance, Public Finance History and Political Science. They devote themselves to translating and introducing important fiscal politics works about Europe, America and Japan, and they look forward to forming a new direction about public finance research in the domestic.

 

Since the project of Fiscal Politics Translations was approved, it has been supported and sponsored by Institute of Public Policy &Governance, SPEA of SUFE, National Publishing Fund, Shanghai Cultural Publishing Fund in translation, research and publication. The project has been fruitful and a large number of translations have been or are being published, causing widespread concern in the academic community. For example, The Classic Literature in Public Finance History has been selected as the doctoral exam bibliography for many universities. The Rise of European Fiscal State was selected as “2016 ten books(candidate)” of Economic Observer Review as soon as it hits the market.

 

This conference provided a platform, in which, on the one hand, translators could communicate on the content of the translation, on the other hand, participants could discuss theoretically the possibility of the direction about public finance research especially political direction. In the conference, the press leaders President Cao Jian, editor-in- chief Huang Lei and SPEA Dean Liu Xiaobing delivered warm speeches respectively, and spoke highly of the translations. Professor Yang Haiyan, Zeng Junping, Yang Cuiying, Song Jianming , Liu Shougang and other professors of our school shared their wonderful views and communicated with participants from other colleges and universities.

 


This conference will inject new vitality for translating and publishing of Fiscal Politics Translations, and provide a certain amount of power for the development of the new direction of Public Finance research.
