During 8:30 to 10:00 on the morning of April 17, 2017, a group of six including SUFE Experiment Center Dean Professor Han Jingti and Chief Expert Professor Liu Jianguo, investigated SPEA Public Policy Modeling and Simulation Laboratory on the construction work of the Data Case Center.
Dean Han Jingti made clear the purpose from the very beginning. He emphasized the SUFE Experiment Center ‘s position of supporting teaching and promoting research, demonstrated the idea of Data Case Center Construction, and wished to understand personalized demand of each school through the visiting and investigation in a week. Professor Liu Jianguo introduced the current status that SUFE Experiment Center could support in data, technique, case, and modeling and simulation. SPEA Teacher Feng Suwei introduced in detail the construction stages and serving status of SPEA Laboratories.
SPEA Deputy Dean Professor Yang Cuiying started from the perspective of serving teaching and research, combined with the former experience of the National Lab construction in Zhejiang University, pointed out that, the current use of Labs appeared to be episodic, fragmentation, and instrumentalized and the Lab failed to give full play of its utility. The reasons laid on the current status that SPEA has too many disciplines and their development directions are not clear, and the shortage that the Lab is lack of professional supporting. She suggested to further positioning the Lab combined with the development plan of SPEA disciplines. With the construction of the Data Case Center, she wished to, through the construction of cross-disciplinary cooperation platform, compensate for the weaknesses, improve the utility, and realize the full sharing in Data, Technique, and Talent.
SUFE Experiment Center teachers Guo Qing, Liang Hejun, Shen Lingsong, SUFE Library teacher Li Na, SPEA Laboratory teacher Yao Yuan attended the Investigation Meeting, and they actively shared the ideas and suggestions on the cooperation between SUFE and SPEA.
