On the afternoon of June 14, Ministry of Finance Budgeting Department Vice Director Wu Haijun, Comprehensive Office Vice Director Xiang Zhongtao, and Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Finance Budgeting Department Director Zhang Rongqing visited SPEA to listen to our opinions on our nation’s fiscal and taxation system deepen reform. SPEA Dean Professor Liu Xiaobing, Deputy Dean Professor Fu Wenlin, Public policy research center Dean Professor Jiang Hong, China Public Finance Institute Executive Dean Professor Liu Xiaochuan, SUFE Academic Department Deputy Director Associate Professor Zheng Chunrong, and SUFE Advanced Research Institute Standing Deputy Dean Professor Huang Xiaodong and his macro economic team attended this investigation meeting.
The meeting discussed on the problems of VAT reform and effect on 50-50 sharing, the relationship between our tax distribution system and fiscal federalism, the future relations between governments, the goals of tax reform and income distribution, what’s the modern budgeting system, how to improve transparency, what’s the trend of our macro economy, and etc..
