SUFE Alumni Humanity Reading Club Donates Books

On the afternoon of May 14, Phoenix Flower Blossoming and SUFE Inherited with Scholars SUFE Alumni Humanity Reading Club Book Donation Ceremony was successfully held in Room 202 in Phoenix Building. Eleven alumni from reading club returned to school, communicated with current students, and donated 170 books of an External History of Science II. SPEA Party Secretary Shen Hui, Director of SUFE Security Department and Dean of SUFE Military Office Zhang Mancang, Deputy Director of SUFE Cooperation and Development Department Zhang Yanbo welcomed the alumni. Deputy Party Secretary of SPEA Fang Hui presided the ceremony.

SUFE Alumni Humanity Reading Club, initiated by SPEA 92 Alumnus in State-owned Asset Management Li Pengcheng, is a social platform for sharing and communicating among SUFE Alumni who are interested in reading. It is a self-organization coming from SPEA Alumni Society, the same as the situation of SUFE SPEA Alumni Forum. The SPEA Alumni Society, since its foundation half a year ago, has covered alumni from 1983 to 2014. Members ranged from later 50s to later 90s, mainly located in domestic cities and with some representative in North America and Australia, and communicated actively with harmonious atmosphere. With a comprehensive platform for alumni, SPEA Alumni Society encourages alumni to deepen their communication according to industry or interest, carries out O2O model, and comes out some valuable self-organizations. This book donation ceremony is the first O2O practice of Reading Club.

On the ceremony, Organizer of SPEA Alumni Society and 87 alumnus in construction economic management Ling Hong gave a introduction on establishment and previous activities of Reading Club. Representative of donator and 80 alumnus in public finance Zhou Weiming shared his gaining in reading and suggested students to extend their reading scope and improve inner quality in humanity. Representative of students in 14 investment Wang Mingyang made a speech of Reading and Public Welfare, in which he extended his gratitude to alumni’s donation, showed his resolution to learn from alumni to read more and be a better person. Party Secretary of SPEA Shen Hui introduced the update of preparation on SPEA Alumni Association. He welcomed the alumni and thanked their caring and support in talent training and their career experience and life understanding are themselves precious wealth for students. Presented leaders and guests had warm discussion in topics like future development of reading club and improvement of students’ humanity quality. They agreed that, in order to expand students’ vision and improve their science and humanity quality, reading club could help more such as regularly recommended book list and held sharing activities.
