To deeply carry out Central Government’s Four Comprehensive Strategical Blueprint and 7 th five-year plan of Law Popularization, the Tax Law Propaganda in SUFE Keynote Lecture was held in the lecture hall of Entrepreneurship Center in May 6. The Lecture is part of Tax Law Propaganda activities jointly held by Shanghai Certified Tax Agents Association, Shanghai Local tax bureau and universities, aiming at enhance tax law education and improve citizens’ tax consciousness through the introduction of tax and tax law knowledge.
The lecture was host by SPEA Dean Professor Liu Xiaobing while Shanghai CTA Association President Zhuang Xiaojiu, Shanghai Tax Bureau Income Tax Department Director Chen Hua, Deloitte China VP, Tax and Business Advisory Chief Partner, Shanghai Municipal CPPCC Director and SUFE Part-time Professor Ms. Jiang Ying presented the activity. Some teachers and student representatives also attended the lecture.
The activity began with Dean Liu Xiaobing’s speech. He introduced the importance of Tax and tax law, and stressed the relation between tax and our daily life. Then, Shanghai CTA Association President Zhuang Xiaojiu introduced the TA Qualification Exam and played the exam advertising video. President Zhuang pointed out that, TA has become a rising industry in our national economy, and TA qualification has become technique professional announced by Ministry of Human Resource and Social Security in 2016, which demonstrated the authority of TA qualification. The rising number of TA applicants in these years also showed the urgent need of talents in this industry and he encouraged students to active participate the exam.
Shanghai Tax Bureau Income Department Director Chen Hua introduced the Individual Income Tax. He detailed demonstrated the IIT from the aspects of developing history, tax object, tax scope, and tax collection and administration. He also explained the major theory and predicted future reform direction, prepared students a better understanding in individual income tax.
Deloitte China VP, Tax and Business Advisory Chief Partner, Shanghai Municipal CPPCC Director and SUFE Part-time Professor Ms. Jiang Ying introduced tax strategy and tax management from tax investigation and combined with corporate practice. She started with the saying of Franklin”Only two things in the world are inevitable, tax and death”, which stressed the importance of tax. Then, she introduced tax strategy, strategical tax plan, re-recognition of tax management, and demonstrated the value which tax management brought to the corporate. She also compared the tax systems in China and America and actively interact with students. At the end, Professor Jiang Ying summarized that, tax is an interesting industry with a huge developing space, and she encouraged students to become a tax professional with great passion, creativity, and integrity.
During the Lecture, students concentrated on the speeches, think seriously, and actively interacted with speakers and guests.
This Lecture popularized the tax law knowledge in university and students’ life. Students had better understanding on tax practice, felt the joy and duty in tax industry, had more confidence in the future development of tax industry, and could better plan their future career.
