On the evening of April 12, 2017, School of Automotive Studies of Tongji University Professor LIN Rui was invited by SUFE Science & Humanity Forum to share on Frontier Overview of Clean Energy Vehicles in the Third Floor Lecture Hall of Phoenix Building in Wuchuan Campus. The lecture attracted more than 100 students and all seats were occupied.
The lecture includes four sections, Energy and Environment Problem, Overview of Clean Energy Vehicles, Development of Clean Energy Vehicles and Typical Models of Clean Energy Vehicles. In the beginning of the lecture, Professor LIN Rui introduced the background of Clean Energy Vehicles and led us into a new area. In the background of rapid consumption of non-renewable energy like fossil energy, high demand of energy, and deteriorating of nature environment, to search for alternative new energy, develop Clean Energy Vehicles and put into use on a large scale is our development path as well as an irresistible trend.
Then what is exactly the new energy? How could we do the classification? Which kind of new energy has more advantages and brighter development future? Professor LIN Rui made detailed comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of new energies like hydropower, solar energy, tidal power, hydrogen and combustible ice, and she demonstrated the appliance of these new energies to vehicle area. Clean Energy Vehicle, according to its energy, is classified into fuel-cell vehicle, full electric vehicle and hybrid electric vehicle, with common advantages of low emission, less noise and more economic. In the lecture, Professor LIN Rui introduced their development status, prospective, performance of each kind, and listed some typical models of Clean Energy Vehicle in our nation. Combined with the examples, Professor LIN talked about the appliance of advanced technology to Clean Energy Vehicle industry in simple words, which benefited the students a lot.
In the end, Professor LIN Rui answered students’ questions and shared her own opinions, and wished SUFE students learned, firm, and have bright future.
In the two hours’ lecture, Professor LIN, with her rigorous and humorous attitude and popular and easy-to-understand language, introduced the frontier information of Clean Energy Vehicles, unveiling its mysterious. Students were deeply attracted by Professor LIN’s profound knowledge and outstanding personal charisma. The lecture ended in heated applause.
