【8th “Career Plan Month”】 “Making Career Plan Well, Promote Employment Competitiveness”

On 12th April, 2016, vice-director Tang Lingli of university Career Center brought students a career tutoring lecture “Making Career Plan Well, Promote Employment Competitiveness” which took place in room 302 of Phoenix Building. Over eighty students came to this lecture. 



At the beginning of the lecture, Miss Tang introduced the macro-environment of the employment and employment data of our university in recent years. She analyzed the employment condition in terms of employment rates, employment category, contract signing process, industry category, position affinity, employment regional distribution, foreign university entering country distribution rate. This analysis helped students have an overview of the employment condition in our university. At the same time, she used relative data to encourage students to be confident about their employment, though the employment situation is not good.  



 

Then Miss Tang introduced the timing of graduate students entering work place. She emphasized some matters needing attention during their contract signing and graduation process. She also presented many career service, such as career market, whole process vocational development education and overseas internship project. 




After that, Miss Tang explained to the students how they could prepare job seeking in the respect of career planning, self-knowledge, CV and interview. Miss Zhang began from the concept of career planning and invited students to share their understanding of career planning. She introduced theories and methods about career planning, such as Super’s Life-career Development Theory and Life-career Rainbow. She said that everyone has his/her development tasks in every phase of one’s life. Therefore, students need to complete the work of career seeking and confirmation. Miss Tang presented a video of member of China Voice and discussed with students. This helped students understand that we should become ourselves but us in others’ eyes. Identifying ourselves correctly was the premise of success job seeking. At last, she taught students basic rules and skills of making CV and attending interviews.

 



Lectures lasted for nearly two hours and finished in warm applauds. All the students benefited a lot and they would have clearer thinking and planning during their university life.
