At 3.00 p.m. on 27th March, 2016, lecture for career face to face hosted by Department of Quality Development, Student Union and Youth League, SPEA took place as scheduled. It was the honor to invite Ms. Zhang Qin to share her career experience. Ms. Zhang was excellent graduate of Department of Accounting, and now she is the HR of Ant Financial.
In the beginning, Ms. Zhang told us her failure during college entrance exam. However, she did not give up and her outstanding performance in drop-in test in SUFE led her into Department of Accounting in SHFE. Then she told us her career story. During thirteen years, she challenged herself constantly and chased for a new height in her life. At the end of 2014, she successfully got the offer of Human Resource Officer in Ant Financial, Ali Baba and became the member of Ali Baba.
The lecture had three parts. First part was about starting from tiny things. Ms. Zhang encouraged us to make plans, such as reading books for twenty minutes in the morning and stop refreshing our Wechat moments before go to bed. These little changes would change our life direction. The second part was about small body and big dream. In this part, she emphasized the significance of dream. Many encouraging videos made students excited and they cannot stop thinking their own dreams. At the same time, Ms. Zhang shared her two dreams: one was to build a Hope Primary School. She also planned to build a factory beside the school, so that the school can be self-sufficient. Another dream was to establish a guide dog training base which could bring disabled people more convenience. She said that we should not despise ourselves because tremendous power often comes out from ourselves. Being diligent, thinking and finding ways for problems were three habits we should develop urgently. At last, she gave us three words: morality, responsibility and modesty which would help us in our career life.
Ms. Zhang finished the lecture with “Do not forget your initial mind, and you will get the best for you”. After listened to Ms. Zhang’s speech, students would realize the power of dream and importance of study. They will know more about work place and control their life in the future.
