On 17th December, “University Students and Members of C.P.P.C.C. Face to Face” activity, hosted by Shanghai CPPCC Theory Research Society, co-hosted by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, took place in the report hall on the first floor of administration building. Vice-president of municipal CPPCC Mr. Jiang Liang, vice executive secretary Mr. Xu Haiying, President of SHUFE and member of municipal CPPCC, Mr. Fan Liming and other 5 members participated in this activity. Ms. Xu Mei (Vice-director of Municipal CPPCC Research Office, vice-chairman and vice executive secretary of Shanghai CPPCC Theory Research Society) hosted this activity.
Seven representative students from SPEA, Bai Yu, Yang Zhenyu, Han Fuyang, Liu Quanjie, Zhang Shan, Huang Na and Wang Yan carried on Model Politics and Consultative Special Topic Conference discussing politics and giving advice to the topic of “Enhancing Budget Management”. In the model conference, one student acted as responsible person in municipal finance bureau to give report, other six students spoke in the role of members in the field of overseas Chinese federation, economics, scientific technology, education, association of industry and commerce and social science respectively. They elaborated their point of views in terms of making budget, budget enforcement, budget information publication, budget performance evaluation and budget examination and supervision and gave suggestions.
CPPCC members listened to students’ suggestions carefully and gave comments. They also answered the questions of how could CPPCC carry on finance budget consultation, how could CPPCC make use of their function and how could CPPCC members be elected.
Mr. Jiang Liang spoke highly of students’ performance and explained some issues relating to finance budget.
President Fan Liming concluded that this activity benefited students a lot. They not only learned the political consultation system in China, but also studied new Budget Law and its enforcement condition as well as their sense of social responsibility and public consciousness. In addition to studying hard in their own specialties, she expected students to give emphasis on social research which helps students know more about country’s condition and prepare for serve society in the future.
In order to promote our basic political system and people’s political consultative theory, Shanghai CPPCC Theory Research Society hosted “University Students and Members of C.P.P.C.C. Face to Face” activity since 2010. The activity is aimed to introduce characters, position and function of CPPCC to young students and discuss issues students cared about. This time, model consultative conference gave students a chance to experience their daily work and students know the basic political system in details. Nearly one hundred students attended this activity.
