
From 23rd to 25th October, 2015 Deloitte Tax Championship was held in Chongqing. Students of Class of 2013 from School of Public Economics and Administration, Ma Yinan, Liu Ying, Yuan Chao and Yang Yang were the champion in Case-study competition. Since this championship was held 12 years ago, we have won four times, in 2004, 2011, 2013, and 2015. We kept the record that we won the most times.
Deloitte Tax Championship is a tax competition facing to university students national wide, which was held by Shanghai DDT tax affairs and the DDT Tax Research Institute since 2004. In the competition, case-study competition for undergraduates is to help students apply their knowledge into simulated business case, enhance their professional skills, train all-round quality and develop team spirit through analyzing, considering, stating and presenting the tax issues in simulated business case. This championship will cultivate tax professionals with deep sight, creativity and comprehensive knowledge and over 2800 students took part in since 2004.
This time, case-study competition attracted teams from 66 universities including Peking University, Xiamen University, Zhongshan University, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Southwest University of Economics and Finance, Hong Kong University, University of Macau and National Taiwan University. Among them, 45 teams were from mainland China, 11 teams from Hong Kong and Macau, and 10 teams from Taiwan. Our team passed the group competition which consisted of case analysis report and tax quiz on 29th August and got the ticket to the final competition, won the champion at last with marvelous score.

This time, participates were much more active and competitive than ever. 40 doctoral theses and 36 masters’ theses from 20 universities were handed in. After first round of review, eight theses were selected for the national competition and three of them would be the “Excellent Thesis”. Our university students handed in 6 and 3 of them entered the final competition.
