On September 2 nd, 2014,the school of public economics and administration greet 446 new students, which conclude 258 freshmen and 188 postgraduate students. Until September 5th，the 2014 year’s activities of welcoming new students and concentrated entrance education for them have finished smoothly, that concluded new students registration, parents’ meeting, college leaders and students meeting and entrance education, professional education and freshman class meeting, etc.
On the whole day of September 2nd, the new students registration work is organized in the hall of the Phoenix building.There is a group of volunteers welcoming new students which was formed by the cadres of the students’ union to provide services of welcoming new students. Each section of the work has a clear division of responsibilities and works orderly, welcoming new students, auditing certificate, signing in, collecting materials, to help carry baggage, to lead the way, on-site consultation, etc. All that ensured the welcoming work a success.
When the new students go to make registration, the department sent a college propaganda album which is of rich content with wonderful decoration as well as a set and different shape of well made two college school badges. It is a good deed that won the praise of students and parents for helping new students to have a better understanding of college basic situation and enhanced the identity and belonging to the new school.
In the same day, the new student parents’ meeting has attracted more than 100 parents, the 302 meeting room were filled with folks. The dean of the school Yu Wei, secretary Shen Hui, vice dean Fang Fang, vice secretary Fang Hui attend the parents' meeting, they introduce both the basic situation of department and school as well as the relevant information of undergraduate course teaching, and answer questions from parents on site.
In the night of registration, the CPC General Branch of SPEA lead the counselors of the freshmen and student union’s cadres to visit the dorms to send the care and warmth of the school, they find out freshmen’ life and learning situations, and whether they have difficulties.
On the morning of September 3rd, school leaders and the 2014 postgraduate students meeting and academic morality and academic norm education are held in the hall of Xingzheng building. Dean of SPEA Yu Wei, secretary Shen Hui, vice dean Liu Xiaochuan, vice secretary Fang Hui attend the meeting. The leaders of the department introduce basic situation and the status of the postgraduate education of the school, and put forward new hope and requirements to the students.
On the morning of September 5th, six teachers Yang Dakai, Chen Jie, Tao Yong, Kong Yan, Li Hua, Tang Min held freshmen seminar separately for each major, introduce situation of each major, give professional education, help students to understand the professional situation and adapt to the professional study faster and better.
On the morning of September 5th,school leaders and the 2014 freshmen meeting and academic morality and academic norm education are held in the hall of Xingzheng building’s second floor. Three professors:Jiang Hong, Hu Yijian,Yang Dakai attend the meeting. They share their personal growth experience and feelings, and put forward high expectations and affectionate remarks for freshmen. Famous school alumni - China hr network CEO Mr Ling Hong make a speech for undergraduates on how to arrange you university life. SPEA secretary Shen Hui, vice dean Liu Xiaobing, vice Dean Fang Fang, vice secretary Fang Hui attend the meeting. Fang Fang, vice dean of the school gives instruction on study and course to new students.
In 2014 freshmen entrance education, on the one hand, SPEA actively invites academic masters, famous alumni, professional teachers to participate in the freshmen education, having face-to-face communication with the new students, giving full play to the educational function. On the other hand, SPEA carefully select three undergraduates, masters, doctors to communicate with new students, to share their learning and life experience, to set models for the new students, and use the power of the model to educate students, infect students, achieving good results.
