In the evening of 20th June, SPEA 2014 Graduation Ceremony Evening Ball being titled with “Delonix regia Flowering, Future Being Lightened” was held in in front Phoenix Building. Persons in charge of Student Affairs Dept., Career Center, Dept. of Logistics Management and Youth League Committee, as well as heads of Party and government of SPEA, teachers, parents, and graduates in 2014 altogether 300 people attended this evening ball.

Head of Student Affairs Dept., Feng Runmin and President of SPEA Mr. Yu Wei gave speeches respectively to express best wishes to those graduates. They expected that students will hold on the spirit of the university motto, “Strive for virtue and knowledge, Endeavor for Pax Sinica” in the future, and insist their faith, broaden their mind, be active and work hard to chase their dreams. Representatives of graduates’ parents expressed their gratitude for the university and SPEA and encourage graduates to be thankful for teachers and parents, and to cherish friendship among peers. They hope those graduates will become persons being valuable for society, insisting their faith, full of knowledge, being righteousness and being equipped with skills. They also wished all the graduates a bright future.

Representatives of undergraduates and postgraduates gave the speeches one by one and expressed that they would miss the life in SHUFE. They showed their gratitude and wishes for teachers, and their determination to take responsibility and repay society.
Commemorative Graduation Certificates of Tax Program were awarded
Director of Career Center, Tan Yuxu, President of SPEA, Yu Wei, Vice-president of SPEA, Liu Xiaochuan and Fang Fang, as well as responsible person of Master in Tax Program, Yang Danfang awarded 29 postgraduates in Tax Commemorative Graduation Certificates with “Shanghai University Junchang Master in Tax” written on it.

In the evening ball, the name list of Excellent Teachers and Students was produced after the vote on the Wechat Platform was uncovered. Three students of 11th Student union Presidium, SHUFE Secretary and Vice- Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Chu Hua and Song Dafei presented those teachers and students the awards. SPEA also recruited 13 graduates who were enthusiastic with alumni work as Alumni Liaison Ambassador. Representatives of graduates gave gift to SPEA and express the best wishes to SPEA’s future development.

After that, colorful performance, interaction at Weibo, and Hot-line parts made the atmosphere reach the climax. Near the end of the ball, alumni and graduates gave their wishes and expressed feelings of graduation. At the end, along with their Assistant, students sang the song Friends.
The success of the graduation evening ball left graduates wonderful memories and provoked graduates to love, honor and thank their university. Their sense of belonging and sense honor to the university were increased.
